NMC's Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021 decide whether your foreign medical degree lets you practise in India. Before you pay any university, get clear written answers to these seven questions.
- Is the course at least 54 months long, not counting any preparatory or pre-medical year?
- Is every year taught in English — including clinical years?
- Is the 12-month internship done at the same university where you study?
- Will the degree make me eligible to register as a doctor in that country?
- Are all the required clinical subjects covered — including medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, psychiatry, and community medicine?
- Is any part of the course online or through distance learning? (It should not be.)
- Is the university listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools?
If any answer is "no" or "not sure", pause. A cheaper seat is not a saving if the degree cannot be used in India.
Our counsellors verify these points for every university we recommend. Call 080-29727747.
